Give Me a Lightbulb

Android Madness - Update frustration

I have a Nokia G42 5G which I quite like. Yesterday, perhaps the day before, I got a system update. As so often happens, the update brought unasked for and unwelcome changes. This post it about the one I find most annoying: turning Bluetooth on and off.

It used to be, before the update, I simply tapped the “Bluetooth” tab (top right in this screenshot), and it turned on if it was off, and off if it was on:

Those days are gone. Now when I tap that tab, I get another screen overlay asking for more:

At which I shout, “Yes, yes!! I do want to turn the Bluetooth on!” while tapping the toggle button thing. Does it turn on now? Yes it does, but we’re not done yet!

Now I get to tap Done, and, finally!, I’m done!

Of course, to turn Bluetooth off, all three steps need to be repeated. Sigh.

Is there a way to go back to the old “tap-on, tap-off” behaviour? I would love to know. Please leave a message if you are willing to help. Thanks!
